Policies

Code of Conduct

Each child is expected to consistently attend scheduled classes and to participate to the best of their ability. It is especially important for those involved in competitive dance as they are part of a team that is counting on them.

Out in the community, it is expected that those involved with Storyteller Dance Studio conduct themselves being mindful of their behaviour and representing the studio in the best possible light. We should take pride in our studio and present that pride in all environments.

Bullying, swearing, harassment and general bad behaviour will not be tolerated. Conflicts are to be resolved through mediation with the Artistic Director.

Liability Waiver

I/we realize that participation in dance classes and activities could involve some possible personal injury. Despite precautions, accidents and injuries may occur. By signing this release form, I/we (the dancer and parent/guardian) assume all risks related to the use of any and all spaces used by Storyteller Dance Studio.

I/we agree to release and hold harmless Storyteller Dance Studio including its teachers, dancers, staff members, and facilities used by both entities from any cause of action, claims, or demands now and in the future. I/we will not hold Storyteller Dance Studio liable for any personal injury or any personal property damage, which may occur on the premises before, during or after classes. Furthermore, I/we agree to obey the class and facility rules and take full responsibility for my/our behavior in addition to any damage I/we may cause to the facilities utilized by Storyteller Dance Studio.

I understand that Storyteller Dance Studio is a licensed, accredited and insured organization.

In the event that I/we should observe any unsafe conduct or conditions before, during or after my/our classes, I/we agree to report the unsafe conduct or conditions to the Executive Director, Artistic Director, instructor or staff member as soon as possible.

Grievance Procedure

Storyteller Dance Studio is committed to creating a positive environment for all involved. In order to maintain such an environment, we require policies and procedures to meet the needs of our customers as well as our business.

If a situation arises that you would like to discuss, please follow the procedure as outlined below:

1. Discuss the issue with the dance teacher directly.

2. Go to the Artistic Director for assistance.

If the issue is outside of the scope of the teacher or artistic director, please contact the owners.

Payment Policy

Payment will be made on time, either in person, or via credit card online. Late payments may be subject to penalties, interest, suspension of dancer, and collections activity.

Media Policy

I/we give media use rights permission for pictures to be used on Facebook, Storyteller website and for studio promotional material.

Attendance Policy

Attendance is mandatory, especially for competitive numbers. If you are to be away for any reason, please let your teacher and the artistic director know as soon as possible.
